Mae Ant yn gerddor, dylunydd sain a thechnolegydd creadigol sy'n gweithio gydag offeryniaeth gynhwysol anghonfensiynol a phrosesau cyfrifiadurol gan gyfuno elfennau o fyrfyfyr, amhenderfyniaeth a mecaneg. Mae'n byw ac yn gweithio yng ngogledd Cymru.

Ei ymatebi'r profiad o ymweld â'r Wylfa a gwneud sawl recordiad sain yw cerflun sain ble caiff cyfres o fesuryddion Geiger sydd wedi eu trin eu 'canu' fel offerynnau cerddorol. Trwy newid y cylchedwaith caiff sain a thraw amrywiol eu cynhyrchu ac o ddiddymu'r deuodau a newid y gwrthyddion a'r cynwysorau gyda gwerthoedd gwahanol galluogir i synau cynaledig a chliciau gyda thraw gwahanol gael eu cynhyrchu.

Yn seiliedig ar y syniad o roi llais i ymbelydredd mesuradwy a cheisio rheoli rhywbeth annaroganadwy, mae'r darn hwn yn ymwneud â rheiliau modurol wedi'u rhaglennu i reoli'r pellter rhwng ffynonellau prawf a thiwbiau Geiger. Yr agosaf yw'r ffynhonnell brawf, yr uchaf yw'r darlleniad ac felly'r mwyaf trwchus yw'r osgiliadau clywadwy a ddaw o gylchedwaith y mesurydd Geiger. Caiff agosrwydd y ffynonellau prawf ei awtomeiddio trwy Ardunio a phats arbennig wedi'i ysgrifennu gyda meddalwedd MaxMsp.

Ant is a North Wales based musician, sound designer and creative technologist working with unconventionally applied instrumentation and computer processes integrating elements of improvisation, indeterminism and mechanics.

His response to the experience of visiting Wylfa and taking numerous sound recordings is a sound sculpture in which a series of manipulated Geiger counters are ‘played’ as electronic musical instruments. Altering the circuitry produces varying tones and pitches and the removal of diodes and replacement of resistors and capacitors with different values allows sustained sounds and different pitches of clicks to be produced.

Based around the idea of giving a voice to measurable radiation and attempting to control something unpredictable, this piece involves programmed motorised rails used to control the distance of test sources from the Geiger tubes. The closer the test source, the greater the reading and therefore the denser the audible oscillations from the Geiger counter circuitry. The proximity of the test sources is automated via an Arduino and a custom patch written within MaxMsp software.

Mae Ant wedi magu enw iddo'i hun yn lleol ac yn rhyngwladol am ei waith sain arloesol. Mae gwaith cywaith amlgyfrwng wedi ei ddangos fel rhan o'r 'Blinc Digital Arts Festival' 2011 a 2012, Gŵyl Adelaide 2015 ac ar 'The Space'. Yn ystod 2013 a 2014 ef oedd yr artist preswyl gosodedig cyntaf yn yr ElektronMusikStudion yn Stokholm ac roedd yn un o'u cyfansoddwyr New Voices yn arddangos ei waith yn Sefydliad Diwylliannol Google. Yn ystod 2015 perfformiodd ac arddangos yn y Lappeenranta, y Ffindir, ac yng Ngŵyl Gelf Ddid Cyland, St Petersburg.

Mae wedi cwblhau comisiynau cyfansoddiadol ar gyfer Cadw a Phlasty Kew, yn ogystal â phrosiectau dylunio sain ar gyfer nifer o fewnosodiadau parhaol ledled y DU.

Ant has built a reputation both locally and internationally for his innovative sound work. Collaborative multimedia work has been shown as part of 'Blinc Digital Arts Festival' 2011 and 2012, Adelaide Festival 2015 and on 'The Space'. During 2013 and 2014 he was Sound And Music’s first international embedded artist in residence at ElektronMusikStudion in Stockholm and is one of their New Voices composers exhibiting at Google Cultural Institute. During 2015 he performed and exhibited in Lappeenranta, Finland and at Cyland Digital Arts Festival, St.Petersburg.

He has completed compositional commissions for Cadw and Kew Palace, as well as sound design projects for a number of permanent installations across the UK.
